Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress, best known for her role in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! The actress was initially famous for her 1980s role in Tezaab and Tezaab, which she co-starred alongside veteran actor Anil Koopor. Then, she starred alongside Aamir as part of Dil. She was born into an Mumbai middle class family and began to dance in her early years. While still a teenager she tried her hand at acting, but most of her early movies did not succeed. Then she found her feet and became one of the leading actors on the Indian film industry. She decided to take a break from acting due to her marriage, before going back to the industry of entertainment. Dixit played an important role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit has received 15 Filmfare Awards nominations, of which she took home eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Her work in the field of social service is known to the world.
